a night @ the ball park

Yesterday, our good friend Shena called and offered Clyde and the boys 4 Grasshopper tickets. I wouldn't be able to go because the girls had their own plans. Clyde thought it would be nice to invite his friend Ben to go with them. Ben is from Africa and had never been to a baseball game before. He was amazed at the park and the energy of the crowd. There were several members of the church there, including the Malcolms, and several members from the Guilford Ward. The boys ate ice cream, popcorn, peanuts, and shared their cotton candy with Ben, who had never eaten it. He asked them what it was when they offered a piece to him, and they responded as they stuffed their mouths, "It melts in your mouth!" Clyde told Ben it was spun sugar. It was neat for Clyde to share the evening of firsts with Ben. Although it was warm, the game was pretty good, and went into extra innings. Clyde said the Grasshoppers tied the game in the 9th inning with a 3 run home run. Exciting! All in all, the boys had a fun evening, thanks to our pals, the Arellano's. Thanks guys!!
