 collected our favorite "sheshells"
 made sand sinkholes...
 knocked our sister down...
hung out with cousins that we haven't seen in a long time...
 broke in some bikes...
slept
 made goodie bags for Grammy.
We are blessed!! Happy Thanksgiving.

crocheted sweaters

Just a few of my recent crochet's...

I love how these sweaters turned out. I love how fast crocheting can be. I think I like the look of knitted better, but love, LOVE how fast these sweaters were made.

2nd grade zoo trip

I volunteered to go on the zoo field trip with Jake's class. I love this trip. I had such a great time with my little man.

My favorite part was seeing him crashed out on the couch after we got home. He slept really well that night.

straight a's

Here is our Josh at his A Honor Roll breakfast.  We are so very proud of him. Clyde and Josh have an agreement. If Josh makes straight A's all year, there will be an awesome gift at the end of the school year. I had to make some addendums to the agreement. Josh is determined to get that prize.

All of our wardlings did great on their report cards. Nearly all a's from everyone. Both Penny and Jacob won a prize for the reading club. Our babies rock!!

piggie came to town

The night before our Spooky Halloween party, my sewing table was broken. Let's just say that someone was determined to move it without me and when that someone wouldn't wait, it all came crashing down along with what was on my sewing table. Needless to say, I was not happy.
Years ago, Clyde and his dad built a table. It resided at the beach with his parents. They have been saying for years to get it. What perfect timing. I needed a table, they had a table. Turns out, Clyde's sister has wanted that table for years.
To keep the peace and love between the siblings, Ed and Becki bought me a new sewing table as my Christmas present. It is beautiful!! It opens up to be bigger and is a great hip height, which makes cutting projects out much easier for me. I have forever cut projects out on the floor. I love this table! Thank YOU!!!
The table wasn't the only present they brought that visit. At the state fair, Miss Lib tried her very best to win a stuffed pig, but couldn't. Erin did however. (gotta love sister love, no?) Papa felt bad for Libby, so when he went back to the state fair with a few of our cousins, he was determined to win a pig for Libby. Story is, is that try and try and fail later, Grammy walked up and won the pig with one game. Yeah!
It made for a very surprised and thrilled Libby.
Who is in love with a certain pig!!
Papa and Grammy brought the girls polish and lip gloss. Penny was excited to try in out on an adult...
That's right, Papa won the straw pull and had his nails did.
Meanwhile, Clyde made us an awesome chicken dinner!
Thanks Grammy and Papa for your visit!!

primary program

Our ward's primary program @ church  was in October. (This is a program but on by children in our sacrament meeting at church.) I have always looked forward to the program because there is always that child who is picking their nose, or is singing above all others, or breathes heavily into the microphone. I love it! This was Josh's last Primary program. (He ages out of Primary next year.) For his very last primary program ever, he was assigned one sentence. This made him a bit upset. Josh reads on a 9th grade reading level. Josh is an A Honor Roll student. Josh was been reading books like Charlie Bone that are 700+ pages for several years now and he is given one line? I hate to complain, but really? one sentence?? There were 4 year olds that were assigned a paragraph length part, that they could barely repeat it with an adult telling it to them and Josh gets one line? (Ok- it didn't only bother Josh.) I have written a primary program before, lead music in many and I know what kind of time and prep goes into creating one. Most of that time is spent thinking about the individual child, their ability, and their willingness to say a part. Plus- having it be in their own words help out. So, the more we spoke about the program and the more we practiced parts, the more upset he (and we) became.  Josh decided that he had more to say. Clyde and I spoke to him about the program and Clyde asked him what he wanted to say, especially since he had the floor and the microphone. We came up with something like:

"I was originally only assigned one line in the Primary Program. Since this is my last Primary program before going into young men's, I felt I had more to say. I thought about reading the entire book of Mosiah and then giving a lesson about it, which I could easily do, but I figured that would take too much time. So before I leave Primary, I'd just like to thank my teachers and before Sis. E, opens the trap door underneath my feet, I'll now read my assigned line..."I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers."

That was the nice version. We did have a snippier version but since it was from the pulpit, we figured that that was best. Josh was a bit nervous about saying his 'new' part. Clyde and I didn't know if he would go through with it. Once he stepped up to the podium and he stuck his hand in his jacket pocket to pull out his paper, we were all smiles! I am very proud of Joshua! You rock!!

pumpkin brains...

The day of our Halloween party, Clyde carved the pumpkins. Jacob was all in, until his hand touched the gooiness of the pumpkin's brains.
He let Clyde finish the job up. Too bad I didn't get any pictures of the after pumpkins. They were amazing!

a dress for ava

Penny's pre-K teacher from last year had a special request for me. Her daughter was getting married and they couldn't find the perfect flower girl dress that would match the bride's dress and she wanted me to make it. After redoing the the bodice twice, this was the final dress. It turned out so loverly. Ms. Susan loved it and that's all that mattered to me.

terrific bobcat

shop talk

Forty one maids were needed for a recent production at the shop. The shop needed about 17 new aprons. I made 12 of those things. I never want to see another apron. ever.
I was on my feet so much that week, that my ankles and feet swelled. (I know it is a gross photo. feel free to keep scrolling down!)

During Halloween, a man wanted to be Kenny Rogers for a competition in WS. Mrs. D had to order a beard/ mustache combo. When it arrived,  it was WAY too long for aKenny Rogers beard, so it needed to be cut. I love this picture of behind the scenes at a costume shop...

state fair

We here in the Brown house go to the NC State Fair every other year. This was the other year to go. We had a blast! Grammy and Papa drove to meet us there. Our camera decided to give us a hard time that day, so the majority of our pics are cell phone pics, which haven't been uploaded yet. We loved spending the day together as a family!
