Yard Sales

Last weekend was great for us. Erin and Libby went to the beach with Clyde's sister, Maylee. They left on Friday and we met in Asheboro, Sunday night. They had a great time, visiting Grammy and Papa, for the whole weekend. I think that Maylee was totally worn out from our girls. They keep your mind and body moving all day with the endless energy and questions. I am glad that they made it safe and sound and that they all returned in one piece.

Our boys also had an adventurous weekend. They spent the night with Bubbie and Pop Pop. They had a blast playing with all of the animals. They played in the sand, that was in the round pin. Mom said that she had to watch the boys when they went to feed the horses, because she didn't want any fingers to have been accidentally bitten. Bubbie and Pop Pop also have two new sheep dog puppies at their house. The puppies belong to Uncle's Kellen and Ty. They are cute puppies, both girls, named Mia and Dede. They also have a rottweiler and a bull terrier. Both of those dogs are mixed breeds, but the boys love playing with the animals.

I didn't know what to do with the house so quiet. Penny and I played for most of the morning. Once she went down for a nap, I began to clean out our 'Harry Potter' closet, which is under our stairs. Really, the closet is big enough for a twin bed...awfully tempting to put a child in there... Anyway, I organized it as much as possible, before I took a nap on the couch. I had forgotten how good naps feel, when not interrupted by children's questions, every 10 minutes. Around 3:45, I started brownies, because once Clyde came home from work, we were off to some friends house for dinner. I had such a good time catching up with them and seeing their baby girl. I am excited for them, as they are expecting once again!

The date didn't end there!! I made arrangements with my VTing comp. to come over and sit, while Penny was sleeping. Clyde laid Penny down, before we left and we were off to see Harry Potter. I had already seen it, and it was good the 2nd time around. Then on Saturday morning, we slept in a bit, and then were off to do some yard saling. I miss that! We found a toy chest, a new pair of shoes for Libby, some cookware, and hamster stuff. I had a blast. We also drove around some what house hunting. I enjoy that too. For lunch, we went to our favorite sandwich shop of Quizno's and ate. I love that place. I especially love using coupons!! Then Clyde bought me the new Harry Potter book. I'm not quite finished, but it is excellent! (I am where the characters have just left Gringotts...)

Later that night, we met my parents at their ward's Pioneer Day celebration. It was nice visiting with the familiar faces and getting our boys back. As I have mentioned they had a blast with Bubbie and Pop Pop. Clyde was asked to grab a few fellas and help move a baby grand piano of a family who was moving into the ward. Clyde said, "Hey, I don't even go to this ward!" He grabbed a few fellas and off they went to move a piano, to the upper level of their townhouse. I am impressed with Clyde's strength!

Now as we are all back together, we have spent the morning today, sorting and folding close to 7 loads of laundry. The sad thing, is that we still aren't finished. Grammy and Maylee, took the girls yard saling as well, so they brought home things that needed to be laundered. Ahh...yard sales!!

City meet pictures

Here are a few of the pictures of City meet and of Libby's birthday...

Swim team is over!

Boy, am I glad that swim team is over. The kids had alot of fun and learned new swimming techniques. Last night was their award banquet. That too took forever! We were there from 6:30pm til 9pm. Penny had enough and was ready for bed by 8pm. She was running all over the club house, trying to take food off of other kids plates, and even kicked a lady in the head, while I was trying to take her outside during one of her screaming fits. I was so embarrassed!! I do not like going to things like that without Clyde. He unfortunately had to work, & so was unable to attend with me.
This past weekend, we had the big City meet. Libby qualified to go. She had 2 relays on Thursday, one on Friday, and one on Saturday. She did great. Josh, Jacob, Penny, & I watched her on Thursday. We arrived @ Lindley Pool by 8am, and then waited for her to swim. She swam against another little girl from our Ward. I love watching her race! Anyway that day we were @ the pool until noon. We got home in just enough time to get Erin off of the bus and then Clyde came home from classes as well.
Friday wasn't as bad. Erin and I went to watch Libby swim. She had one relay, and we still waited for nearly 2 hours! Anyway, once Libby was finished we went to see "Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix." I loved the film! Of course I am a big HP fan, so I enjoyed every minute of the film. It is a bit scary at the end, but excellent.
Saturday we were just hanging out her, thinking that the City Meet was over for our Libby. We get a frantic phone call at 6pm asking where Libby was, that they were calling for her at the Court of Course. Libby and I grabbed our shoes, she threw on her swim suit and we drove as fast as we could to get there. At each red light we were saying, "Turn green, turn Green!!" Luckily for us,
it was our lucky night in the city of Greensboro and the lights turned green. Our team had a mom waiting for Libby, in the parking lot. I do not think that our car had stopped completely, when Libby opened the door and sprinted out. The Mom was elbowing people out of the way, to get Libby to the swimmers block. She was still completely dressed, when she lined up. She had to strip down to her suit, the slapped on her cap & goggles on her, and she jumped in the water. She even beat her time by 8 seconds, completely cold, with no warm up... Go Libby!
Yesterday was Libby's 9th birthday. We had a few friends from church come over for a little swim party. I think that she had a blast. We stayed @ the pool for an hour and a half, came back opened presents, ate cake, and made pillow goodie bags. I embroidered pillows, that the girls were able to stuff, sew up and take home. A couple of the girls had to slip stitch them when they got home, but I think that they turned out well. I thought that the pillow was better than a regular goodie bag of treats.

First Swim meet @ Pinetop Pool

Wow! Another month has gone. The children finished up their school year with sucess. The past few weeks have been spent in the pool. We have a neighborhood pool that we go to. We have also participated in swim meets. They have been alot of fun for our family. The biggest benefit was the swim lessons . By participating on the swim team, they were able to learn strokes and how to swim. We are so very proud of them! Libby qualified for the City Meet on Thursday. Go Libby!
