breakfast men

This morning we went to Krispy Kreme. It was perfect timing, @ KK because the dining area was empty. The kids chose our table and waited patiently for their breakfast. Man do I love free coupons! They chose a table that was in the sun, so they were squinting a bit.

As we were eating, there were 2 men who sat at the table beside us. Mind you, the resturant was empty and they coulda chosen any other table in the resturant. A few minutes later, another older man joined them. I think that the table they were sitting at was their usual, daily table, so it didn't matter that we sat @ the table beside them. They talked to the Wardlings about little things, about the shape of milk containers, and the food lion bags that are floating around in the dumpsters. One of them did the old man thing, with asking the Wardlings, if "they wanted to go home with them." Why do older people say that? And what if the parents actually handed them their screaming child and said, "good luck with this one." winked, pointed to them, and walked off? Seeing the men sitting there, and after talking to them a bit, I realized that my Grandpa did the same thing each day. The men are retired, some widowed (or is it widowered??) and this is their new routine. They each had their own KK cup, so I am assuming that they got free coffee and they just chatted to pass the time.
