and...we're back

I really do not know what is worse, packing or unpacking. The actual moving wasn't too terrible. Clyde and I spent last week moving our stuff over to the brown house. Anything, and I mean anything and everything, that could fit in the van, we put in it and moved it. Our bed frame, headboard, footboard, tv's, chairs, desks, everything, travelled over to it's new place in the good ole mini van. Clyde rented a small 10 foot Uhaul on Saturday to take the things that couldn't fit in the van...couch, washer, dryer, etc. It was pouring on Saturday, just in time for our move. My brother Doc, and Dad drove up to help, Lou G., and Mike H. came to help out as well. We had arranged with the Elder's Qu. @ church to help out. However, there was a ward activity that day, so they couldn't lend a hand until noon. We wanted to be done by noon, and since the Cecil side was helping out, we were going to be starting much earlier. We got up @ 7 Sat. morning and were out the door by 7:30. The girls and I went to the townhouse to get the trash taken out to the curb and to do a smidge of cleaning, behind furniture before the men got back to help load the uhaul. Clyde and the boys went to get the uhaul and the boys were in heaven riding in it. They came back with breakfast in hand and and we began. Cheryl H. said that she would watch the children for us, and so I took her up on the offer. She came over, & how sweet was that...that she came by to get them?? and picked up the younger 3 Wardlings and took them back to her house to play. They had a sweet time and after the move, when I went to get them, it was so cute to see Cheryl and Penny snuggled together asleep on the couch. Thanks Cheryl!! You are wonderful! So, after the younger Wardlings left, the men and Clyde started moving the heavy things. The only thing that didn't fit into the uhaul was the dryer. That was placed in my brother's van and we took off for the brown house. It took a mere 30 minutes to load the stuff and 20is to unload it. We are very appreciative of the people who came to help out. Once we were at the brown house, I asked Cheryl if she'd call the Elder's Qu. Pres. to tell him that we were done, and to spread the word. I just hope that no one showed up thinking that we had ditched them. Once the things were in the house, my Dad and brother, Doc stayed for a bit and looked at the house. We are having problems with the washing machine that came with the house. It would only wash in hot water, so I asked my Dad to take a peek @ it. He is a plumber, so I thought if it had to do something with the lines, then he would know. After playing with it for a while, we did get the cold to work, but it had to be on the hot setting. Once we figured this out, then it stopped mid cycle and wouldn't start again. I need to make a phone call to the maytag guy and wake him up to fix the machine. This is where the home warranty will come in to play. Then we showed the fellas the Wii and played a game of baseball. That game is fabulous!

After Dad and Doc left, then Clyde, the girls and I crammed into the uhaul and took it back. We had to pay by the mile, so we were trying to get to Lee St. the shortest way. We round trip went about 25 miles. Not too bad I suppose. We ate lunch @ Yum Yum's and then we went back to the town house to get the computer desk and computer. We wanted to be able to check e-mail one last time before we loaded it up. Once it was loaded, then Clyde took Libby back to the brown house to drop it off and I went to Cheryl's house to get the Wardling. I sat for a minute and boy did that feel good. We met again as a family back @ the townhouse and headed to Bubbie and Pop Pop's house to eat dinner as a family. All but one brother was there and it is always nice to visit with family. I have to say that Clyde was such a good sport on moving day. He was way under the weather, but put on a happy face and went to work. He is awesome! He slept just about the entire way to the Cecil Farm. He was so sick that he even stayed home form church. He said that he didn't wake up for the day until 2:30 in the afternoon. Wow...sick! Maylee joined us after church and hung out with us in our new brown house! We had fun playing the Wii and hanging out. Whew- what a weekend! Now to the unpacking...(sigh).
