fooseball, superchunk, and cougar flags

Last night was Clyde's school's annual Powder puff game...Gal teachers vs. girl students. Clyde and our buddy Jessup were the teacher's coaches. Our buddy L came out of maternity leave to play for the teachers. Way to go L!! It was fun to watch the game but even better when the girls had a play to tackle Clyde. I think it was revenge from last years game where he um...tackled a girl player. It was an accident, but it was a tackle none the less. The teachers slaughtered the girls 44-14. The cheerleaders, who were boys tackled Clyde and stole his shoe. Clyde being the good sport, just walked away when he realized that he wasn't getting his shoe back. The cheerleaders underestimated Jacob's speed, because when they put his shoe down to figure out what they were going to do with it, Jacob ran in swiped his dad's shoe and gave it back to Clyde. Way to go Jacob!! We then enjoyed some Sir Pizza pizza. (I do not like Sir Pizza pizza. It is greasy and not my thing. So, I got a salad.) We had a gift certificate from Christmas that a student gave us and when Clyde went to redeem it, they wouldn't accept it. The manager will be getting a phone call today. Anyway, a special thank you to my bro-in-law John and his bride Raegen for letting us borrow the "Ward" Steelers jersey for the game. You guys rock!!

Clyde and his friend P to the B, went to see Superchunk on Wednesday nite @ the Cat's Cradle. It is one of their favorite groups, besides Mastodon, to which they will be seeing sometime in the next month. They are very excited to see this group. They even want to dress up for the occasion. Men!

Last year Clyde bugged me to make a flag for his soccer team. The time just slipped away with us moving that I didn't get it made. I bought the stuff this past summer on a Mary Jo's run with a friend of mine. This year I had to make good on my promise to make it. I was very pleased with the way that it turned out, but more pleased with Clyde's, and his soccer team's, reaction to it. They would hold it up for home games and run it around the field whenever they scored. The principal even announced the flag over the p.a. system in the afternoon announcements, inviting the entire student body to go to Mr. Ward's room to check it out. Cougar pride.
