yahooo!

The last day of school was yesterday. YAHOOOO!!! This means no more 6am wake up alarms...for 2 months. Josh asked me why I was waking him up so early yesterday morning. When I told him that he still had one more day of school, he looked utterly sick to his stomach. They got to school on time and Clyde, Penny and I went back to school for Libby's 5th grade graduation. (I wasn't too impressed with the ceremony. It was just a plain ole ceremony...no hoop-la.) She got an award for being a library assistant and A/B Honor Roll for the last 9 weeks. She also received her diploma. Sweet. What was cool about the ceremony was after when they had the 5th graders and their families walk down the hall for the last time. The entire school was lined up along the hallway applauding. It was our "Rudy" moment. Then they had cake and juice served to the 5th grade and families in a small reception. Oh Libby...We are so very proud of all your hard work...Off to middle school!

After her good-byes and photo ops, we took L and P home, ate lunch and returned to school for Josh's award ceremony, this time armed with a pillow to sit upon. After having a broken tailbone, hard metal chairs are no longer my friends. I felt a bit dumb, but comfy. Josh won his addition award, along with Study Island award, and the National Fitness Award, signed by President Obama. He looked very shy when getting his awards. We are very proud of Josh! We went back to his classroom, to of course take pictures, grab his stuff and say adieu for the summer. We learned who his new teacher would be and his teacher, Mrs. O'M was thrilled to have him in the new teacher's room!

We then let Josh pick out some ice cream with all the fixings and had an ice cream party of our own. Congratulations to all the Wardlings on another completed school year! Now...on to two months of hibernation and pool fun!
