Last night, while we were watching "Dancing With the Stars," Penny decided to comb everyone's hair. She did a good job too. We all loved having our Penny groom us. Now about the whole Star Dancing thing. Last night was the 1st show that we had ever seen. Actually, I don't think that we watched it to the end. It just kept going and going. Marie Osmond danced with her partner and once they were finished, her brother Donny had to get in the star light. He jumped up after her 1st dance of the evening and gave her a kiss. He just had to steal her moment huh?! After watching one of the shows, I don't think that we'll be watching another one, at least with a straight face.
Here Penny is brushing Clyde's locks.
Here are a few of our girls, posing for a smile, after their hair was well brushed. Penny is such a ham. Once we got the camera out, she was ready to give us her goofy grin.

our yard sale
Clyde and I have been talking about having a yard sale for the past few months. With the weather beginning to change and yard sale season coming to a close, we thought that it would be Saturday or wait until next spring. (Yes, there is a yard sale season.) Of course there is always Goodwill, but why not try to make a few dollars off of our stuff that we don't want anymore. Friday, I bought poster boards and made signs. Clyde hung them on a few streets signs and lamp posts to advertise. We started setting up on Saturday morning @ 6:15am. By 6:45am I had customers w/ flash lights. It was freezing too by the way. Once we had all of the stuff laid out, we realized that we had a bunch of junk, and then the thought came that we might not make anything and that the stuff would all go to Goodwill. To our surprise, people wanted our junk!! A few things went for less than what they should have, partly my fault because I didn't have them priced high enough. Overall we had a successful morning. Raegen and John came by on Saturday to check out our sale. It's nice having family near by. Once the crowds began to die, we loaded the stuff up in the van and dumped it off to the wonderful Goodwill, to which I lovingly refer to as the "Other People's Crap Store." It felt good to go through our home and get rid of the stuff that we don't need anymore. Once I saw what a few customers wanted, I ran back in the house and found more stuff to sell them. I had fun and I even knitted part of a dishcloth in the slow times; mainly to keep my hands warm. I look forward to having more yard sales in the future.

my big kid
Each year, after trick-or-treating, and once the kids go to bed, we sort their candy. We throw away any jaw breaker type choking hazards, as well as some of the candy that nobody will eat. This year we got pretty good stuff! So, while I was blogging last night, Clyde did our sort.
Some of the loot that our children got from strangers... :)
And yes, the real reason of the sort...to pick out our favorites! How adorable is my sweetie?!

loot
Thank goodness Halloween is but once a year. We usually have double this, but because our Ward cancelled Trunk-or-Treating, this is our reward. I am disappointed about Trunk-or-Treating, but this year's Halloween was still a success! We all had fun spending time together as a family. Boy, do we love our kids!
candy, candy, candy
The only picture we got of Jacob trick or treating. Penny and her bucket.
Clyde and the children walking to the next house...
ok, ok... trick or treating
Here we are going house to house getting candy from strangers. Penny was so excited that she was pulling us along and then running in place once we were on our way to the next house. SHe held her own bucket, until it got way too heavy and then, only I could carry it for her. Clyde tried to do the good Daddy thing and hold her bucket, but she wasn't taking any of his Daddy chilvary. Jacob is behind me. He was either 10 feet in front of me or right behind me.
Clyde, our teletubbie Penny and Jedi Josh leaving a house with some loot.
Erin said that she was a scary purple princess. However, she wasn't too scary; just a purple princess.
Princess Fiona, I mean Libby, happily staying up past her bed time.
Jedi Josh.
People we visited
Auntie Raegen and Uncle John are, our annual Trick or treating first stop. This year they dressed up. Raegen was a cat and John was a farmer cowboy. They were cute all dressed up! Raegen scared Penny with her mask, unintentially of course. We always have fun visiting them!
The next stop was the Fun-loving Dougherty family. Penny was really getting into the whole, knock on doors and people come out and give you candy thing. She loves Audra too. So, we parked the van in front of their house and hit their neighborhood. What a blast we had!!!
