I just love Strawberry time here in the Emerald City. We live close to 3 strawberry farms. The one that is closest to us, wasn't allowing the "you pick" when we went last week during spring break. We simply went to another one that did have the you pick as an option. These berries were so good. It was so cold that day that the farm had begun to cover their berries to protect them for the freezing temperatures that were coming that night. (I love Jacob's face in the above photo...mouth full of berries.)

Blue and Gold
I really like the Blue and Gold Scout banquet each year. It is so fun to see all the cub scout boys' accomplishments. Jacob has worked hard on earning loads of belt loops. We are almost finished with his Wolf. The boys played a fun game with marshmellos and the the dinner was awesome. Congrats Jacob on your hard work!
washington dc...planking?!
Clyde's school went to DC again this year. I must start off by saying Thank You to Grandparents and Great Granparents, and Aunts and family, who helped us pay for this very expensive trip. Thank you!! Not only did you conrtibute monetarily, but in watching other Wardlings while we were away. Thank you Thank you!!
I chaperoned 8 wonderful gals. I called them my Crazy 8's. They stayed by me and made my chaperone job easy. Awesome!
Have you heard of planking? It is apparently all the rave. There was some serious planking in DC...
Clyde did one awesome job planning this trip all by himself {again} this year. It is most likely to be the last that he will do, alone anyway. He did all this work for one child in particular...ours. Love you Libby!
Well, and maybe a few others...
Great job Mr. Ward!!

something in common
Penny and Jacob lost teeth on the same day! I noticed that Penny had a permanent tooth growing in behind her ever so wiggly baby tooth. I sweet talked her into pulling it before school that morning (the 14th). It popped right out with next to no bleeding. Jacob lost 2 teeth that same afternoon. He, like Erin, has an extra tooth. and they were both wiggly. Again, I sweet talked him into pulling the teeth and they popped out with next to no bleeding as well. They were both excited about the tooth fairy visit that night and that totally made up for me pulling the teeth.

pete and repeat, with scraps
As most of you recall, I made a bed for Clyde and I a few weeks ago. We love it! However, because it is so tall, we needed to make new bedside tables. We looked in various stores, but again that dang price tag would stop us cold. I figured that I could use my leftover scraps to make us what we needed.
I had everything, but for the 2x2x8 lumber pieces, which ring in at $1.50 each. I only used 3 of them total. I had fun cutting out my lumber, and yes, I still have all my fingers and eyes.
I am pleased with how they turned out.

I am pleased with how they turned out.
I think they"ll work out great. I did make a few mistakes, but am a smidge lazy to change them. Not bad for less than $15 total.
