We spend alot of our free summer time @ the pool. We love it. Our Wardlings have always been around a pool during the summer. I have enjoyed every minute of it as well. Yesterday I had an appointment with a school appeals committee and after that meeting, we were then off to the pool for some summer time fun. Even though this pool doesn't have a diving board, Penny treated the sides as one. She would look @ us and jump right in. Fearless!
Jacob approached me and asked me to take a picture of him making his best fish face. He would try his hardest to hold the face while I captured it. He tried and tried and this was his best one. He was so proud. I love his fish face! It's great!

lincoln logs
For the past couple of days, Erin and Libby have been grounded from watching tv. We have a rule that says that there is no tv before mom and dad come down stairs in the mornings. This may sound harsh, but Penny has been known to go in the garage and get a popcicle from the freezer. That doesn't sound too horrible, but it is a chest freezer and if she fell in, she couldn't get out if the lid closed on top of her. Meanwhile the older kids wouldn't hear her, because the tv was on. See...no tv. So as a reminder of this broken rule, the girls haven't been allowed to watch tv for 2 days now. This is how they occupied their free time: We were given these lincoln logs and as bad as they hurt to step on @ night, they are worth keeping for days like these. The girls built this little city and were very proud of it. They wouldn't go to sleep last night until I photographed it. Once the picture was taken they lovingly destroyed their city to clean up.

karaoke fun
My brother Kellen is getting married this Saturday. He and his bride asked if Clyde would DJ their reception. Clyde has done this is the past for Stake dances and my sister's wedding reception a few years ago. He is really good @ it. Last night he was setting up the equipment ,that he borrowed, and the Wardlings were having a blast with the microphone. Maylee and her friend were over and the Wardlings were also taking bunches of pictures with our camera and Maylee's. Clyde put in some funky music and Penny was singing to it.
We have decided that we must have a karaoke machine for the Wardlings. They put on a show for over an hour. Kellen and Ty came up last night for music arrangements, and Clyde said that the show didn't stop when company arrived. The Wardlings love to put on plays and shows for FHE's. This was fun to see and hear. :)

move over michael phelps
We have been invited several times by some friends of ours to go to their pool. Yesterday we took them up on their invitation. We had such an awesome afternoon. Each of the Wardlings were excited to see the diving board. We all took turns jumping off of it. We were so impressed with Penny. She was a bit apprehensive @ first, but after her initial jump, she was hooked. It never got old to see her jump off the diving board. With each jump the braver she became.
What a fun day!
scooby snacks
The other night, after Clyde's game, I caught Clyde giving Uno a snack. He dipped a dog snack into a jar of peanutbutter and was giving it to her. I later learned that he had purchased the peanutbutter as a special treat for Uno. He even wrote all over the jar..."Uno, Uno, Uno."Uno has since been following Clyde around, sitting patiently, whilst giving him her best puppy dog eyes. What a softy Clyde is.

game douze
Game douze (12) was so much fun to watch. We had more than plenty team members for this game. The most that we've had all season actually. There were plenty of subs to relieve tired players. It was really nice! The teams were evenly matched as well. If my memory is right, I think that we had to forfeit the last time we played this team, because of the lack of players. Clyde played goalie for the entire 1st half. He was so upset that 2 goals slipped through his sweaty hands. He said that he is going to start wearing long sleeves and that we needed to buy him some goalie gloves. He was very upset...mad actually. We heard about it all night. {Oops... same pic as before...:) }
This is such a fake smile from Clyde after half time.
So, after 1/2 time, Clyde played forward and just went out onto the field with such frustration, that he scored 2 goals!! TWO! The first goal, he blasted into the net, full leg strength. It was amazing to watch!! Then the 2nd goal he got it in the net, by kicking it off the side of his foot. Again, amazing!! Go Clyde!! He played so well. We were all so very proud! We were thrilled for our Clyde.
Here are the members of Team Cal after the game...all sweaty and proud. The game was tied and we went into overtime with goal kicks. The brother, of the brother/sister duo did a phenomenal job as the goalie in that! We had great defenders throughout the game. Everyone did a great job!! We are all so proud of our team Cal.
